John Jarrold has sold World English language limited-edition rights in award-winning Serbian author Zoran Zivkovic’s first novel, THE FOURTH CIRCLE, to Peter Crowther of PS Publishing, for publication in 2010.

Breaking News from Japan

This is just in from the Kurodahan Press:

We are honored to announce that agreement was reached today with renowned Serbian author Zoran Zivkovic to publish his uniquely fascinating stories in Japanese.

Acclaimed in nations around the world, his works have earned him literary recognition including the World Fantasy Award and a host of top-billed reviews in The Washington Post, The New York Times, Locus, Strange Horizons and Booklist, among others.

Kurodahan Press will be publishing this first collection of short stories in Japanese this fall as “The Teashop and other Impossible Stories” (provisional title), which will include three of his finest works:

“The Fire,” contained in Seven Touches of Music and other books

“Hole in the Wall,” contained in Steps Through the Mist and other books

“The Teashop,” contained in Fantasy: The Best of the Year 2008 and other books

The stories will be translated by SHIBATA Miyoko, and feature an introduction by Professor TATSUMI Takayuki of Keio University.

The Writer / The Book / The Reader

Another beautiful PS Publishing edition of my books is just out — the triptych The Writer/The Book/The Reader.

There are going to be as many as four PS Publishing books of mine in 2009. The Bridge and The Writer/The Book/The Reader, which have already appeared, and Impossible Stories II and Escher’s Loops, which are scheduled for September and December respectively.

ZORAN ZIVKOVIC DUTCH RIGHTS SOLD

John Jarrold has sold Dutch-language rights in award-winning Serbian author Zoran Zivkovic’s novel The Last Book to Rienk Tychon of The Flying Dutchman.  The book will be published around the end of 2009, or very early in 2010.

The Last Book has been published to acclaim across Europe, including a German edition that sold out its initial printrun in weeks.
